Government should be tolerant: former President Yadav

Kathmandu, March 19: Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has suggested the government that it became broadminded to hear the grudges of the agitating political parties in the southern plains.

At a programme organized by the Janakpur people to exchange greetings on the occasion of the forthcoming Holi festival in the Capital Saturday, former President Dr Yadav said government, pro-government political parties and those out of the government should hear the dissenting parties in Madhes.
Showing concern over the efforts being made to divide the people from Tarai and hilly people, he pointed out the need of campaign to bridge the growing gap.

According to him, he was launching an awareness campaign from Mechi to Mahakali within some months in a bid to preserve Chure region.

Similarly, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Kedar Prasad Giri, said youths could be attracted to protect the historic importance of Janakpur area, as it is the significant heritage of the country.

Another former Chief Justice Ramkumar Prasad Saha said Janakpur was one of the foremost places in terms of politics and culture. So, the new generation should be aware on it, he added.
